As an owner of a trailer hitches and hitch covers ecommerce site, I’ve started noticing our favorite products everywhere. Whenever I’m driving down the road I notice whether trucks and SUVs have (or don’t have) trailer hitches. When I see a vehicle that obviously has the towing capacity but doesn’t have a hitch I ask myself why. Why would you let all that towing power go to waste? Trailer hitches in all sizes and varieties are just a few clicks away. At the same time, when I see a big truck that does have a hitch but doesn’t have a hitch cover, I’m confused. Especially when I see a sports sticker on the bumper or in the rear window. I mean, if you’ve got an NFL team decal that shows the world your devotion, why not reinforce the message with the right NFL hitch cover? Leave no doubt, that’s my motto. The 2007 Tundra has a lot of nice features, and Toyota.com has a lot of videos to showcase these features. At Trailer Hitch Universe, we’re mostly concerned with the trailer hitch and towing features, so I’ll focus on those: The 5.7L V8 has a 10,800 lb. towing capacity and can carry over 2000 lbs in the long bed. The V8 tow package includes a heavy-duty tow hitch receiver, 7-pin connector, trailer brake controller prewire, supplemental transmission cooler, TOW/HAUL mode (not available with 4.7L V8), automatic-transmission temperature gauge, 4.100 rear axle ratio (on 4.7L models) or 4.300 rear, axle ratio (on 5.7L models). Front tow hooks come standard on all models except the 4.0L Double Cab. Toyota reccommends the Reese weight distribution hitch bar, and I would also like to note that hitch is shown with a matte black toyota logo hitch cover.
After reading Nate’s recent post about buying a locking hitch pin, I thought it might be necessary to elaborate on the topic. Many people think that the hitch pin is just an accessory, or is unnecessary. In truth, hitch covers and hitch pins are sold separately, and using a hitch cover without a hitch pin is impractical and dangerous.
Sizes:
Just as there are different sizes of hitch receivers, there are different sizes of hitch pins. Its important to measure your hitch receiver before ordering a hitch pin from us, as a class 3 (for 2 inch receivers) hitch pin will not fit in a class 2 (for 1.25 inch receivers) hole.
Security
As Nate mentioned in his previous post about locking hitch pins, it is an unfortunate fact that people will steal anything that isn’t bolted down. This is especially true when dealing with something like an attractive propeller hitch cover, or worse, a hitch mounted bike carrier with expensive bikes on board.

As you may have noticed, we have been doing some construction on the
Trailer Hitch Universe.com site over the past week or so. Over the course of the past several months, we have found little things that weren’t working as well as they should, so we went ahead and gave the site a little tune-up.
Probably the most obvious upgrade that we made was to re-name all of our individual category pages (
NFL Trailer Hitch Covers,
Misc. Hitch Covers, etc.) and product pages (
Denver Broncos Trailer Hitch Cover,
Chrome Propeller Trailer Hitch Cover, etc.) so that they are more user friendly. We changed them from a number based system to a more user-friendly text based system. Now, all of our pages that contain trailer hitch covers have the words “hitch cover� in them, and each individual category page has the category name in it, such as “/hitch_covers/nfl/� .
We think that these upgrades will make the site easier for you to find and easier to move around in once you are here. This is just another example of what we are doing in order to be your first choice for trailer hitch covers and other trailer hitch accessories!

My mouth literally dropped open when I came across this beauty while searching for all things related to trailer hitches. (http://www.rvtoyoutlet.com/p-RV0276.html) The electric Cruising Cooler with its 13 mph top speed and 250 lb weight capacity is unbelievable enough. Then you add the fact that it has a trailer hitch, and you’ve got me floored. I did get a nice visual when my brother suggested cruising down to the closest McDonalds to pick up lunch for the whole family on this baby. Do you think I could tow one of my kids in the trailer?
